2010: I have done some more work on the family of James Lishman, the Westmorland artist and
dancing master, in particular his eldest son James William.
2010: I have uncovered the sad story of George Lishman of Shildon's first brief
October 2010: Lishman > James Lishman of Cartmel > William's family. A member of this family has
pointed out an error which I have now corrected. I had confused the
histories of John and Alan, grandsons of John James Lishman. I am very
grateful to my informant.
